Piezowave2 and Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT)
Just the other day a patient came into our brand-new office in the beautiful city of Mt. Juliet, TN complaining of lower back pain. Upon initial inspection though we noticed that the patient was limping into the office and back into the exam room. After a thorough exam and diagnosis of slight disc herniation accompanied by a severe muscle spasm the patient was treated for several appointments and their low back pain was drastically improved.
Even though the patient stated their pain had improved, a noticeable limp was still observed. Upon further questioning, patient stated they have had right heel pain that has lasted several months to a year. The patient stated that past doctors had just diagnosed it as plantar fasciitis but only gave stretches and pain relievers to help with their problem. We decided to fully re-exam the patients’ foot and came to the same diagnosis as chronic plantar fasciitis. But during our exam we were able to conclude that due to the patients foot pain causing them to limp, the limp inadvertently caused them to also have hip and low back pain and in our opinion was a huge factor in the patients disc herniation bringing them into the office in the first place.
We decided to try and treat the patients’ chronic plantar fasciitis with the Piezowave2 acoustic therapy. After one 10-15-minute session the patients’ limp had completely subsided, and they were very ecstatic to be free from the pain that has been plaguing them for almost a year. The patient was observed over the next couple appointments and the Piezowave2 was administered for 2 more sessions. Patient states they have had no pain in their foot and as a result have had no pain in their hips or lower back to date. They were then moved to a wellness stage of care, but still opted to come in weekly for a tune-up adjustment because they know the overall health benefits of regularly having Chiropractic adjustments.
